After playing through once, every new character can skip the campaign and begin the seasonal update immediately. In diablo 3 your character exists in its own instance, and apart from doing damage to the same monster there are no interactions with other players.Diablo IV's quarterly updates are for post-launch adventuring, so you'll need to complete the base game before jumping in. your experience was influenced by other players on the server. In diablo 2 your character existed in a dynamic and changing world. In diablo 3 the drops you find are only relevant to you and only you – your loot is even specifically tailored to you. there was a dynamic market and economy (and hence one of the reason ladders were needed) if you found something rare that you didnt want, it still had a value so it could be traded towards what you wanted. in diablo 2 what you found was relevant to the entire server you were playing on. Removing trading, sharing loot etc made it lose a dynamic element. it feels empty, like youre playing a single player game – but with other people. at least in diablo 2 you lost your gear and gold and had to go find your body again to get it back.ĭying becomes an issue when you ramp up the difficulty like you said, but at that point youre getting too weak – which isnt very fun.Įven if you start a completely fresh character, simply acquiring average gear as you go along, you dont even need to try in the first few difficulties, even boss fights are stupidly easy.ĭiablo 3 to me is pretty boring. not to mention that dying in the game (apart from hardcore) is meaningless as you can just respawn right where you died. I find dying occurs pretty infrequently on a reasonable difficulty. That’s the general feel i got from diablo 3 on PC – it’s not at all what the previous games were Mastering a set dungeon comes with cosmetic rewards unique to each set, but the truly dedicated can earn even more exclusive rewards by mastering all the sets from one class or even all 24 of them! These completely static dungeons are not randomised, and it’s up to you to decide how to best utilise your powers to complete these challenges. Once you complete and don the full six pieces of any given class set, you’ll receive a clue to track down an ancient dungeon designed just for you and your set. To do this, we’re introducing an entirely new set of challenges in the form of Set Dungeons. We want to give players the opportunity to learn and master their sets inside and out. In patch 2.4 each set ( there are quite a few in Diablo III) is getting its own dungeon, designed for the completed set the player’s wearing, so they can master the set’s bonus abilities. You collect all or a few pieces of a set and you get an extra set of bonus affixes. One of the most exciting things will be a feature called set dungeons.īright green set items are essential to Diablo III. There’s a new, similarly large content patch coming soon with enough new things packed in to make it worth going back and gain a few more Paragon levels. Adventures in Diablo III didn’t end with patch 2.3.
